You adjust the track lenghts once you have routed them. You need to do this anyway to take care of termination stubs. We normally adjust to 20thou for gigibit boards.
Tried the trunk route and it doesn't give heads up, but its nice and easy, you can then tune lengths once routed. Also went back to track hugging and again thats fine and easy, of course you get the heads up on this. Once again fine tune pair lengths once routed.
You can also set length rules on your diff traces so that the DRC will pick up any that may be out of your spec, but you need to define these as styles, a lot of work if you have a lot of diff pairs. We had a multi gigabit ethernet server board that had about 32 diff pairs on it, but once you get the hang of it its easy.

I tried the track hugging mode and it is useless at the moment. You cannot make sure that two tracks have the same length. Track hugging only defines the distance between two tracks. When you draw differential lines the track distance isn't always the same everywhere, Iain.
In contrast to other cad manufactures Cadsoft produces only one product at low cost. I think Cadsoft will catch up with more futures and soon Eagle will be even better than Pulsonik at low cost. I wonder if Number One Systems will continue with production.
I will buy the Easy-PC update V17 this time. But if Number One Systems doesn't include differential lines and meander features in Easy-PC 18 I will definitively replace Easy-PC.

Are you using Easy-PC or Pulsonix, Iain? When you use Easy-PC and you select "add -> trunk route" the Headup display is not available. Headup display is only available if you only use "add -> track". Easy-PC does not come with Serpentines routing as well. I installed the demo version on my computer. I think the demo version includes all features.

The 'Trunk Route' feature is the Easy-PC equivalent, although it has quite a way to go before being up with the Eagle functionality.
Maybe 'Trunk Route' can be developed a bit to bring it inline with the competition !? .. Hint :-) |

Differential routing not that hard using bus routing or track hugging. The difficult thing is getting the track lengths the same length. With the new heads up display in V17 this is now a bit easier. If you put in a serpentine or two using the fillet then you can adjust pairs of different differential traces to be the same length if required by simply moving the curved pairs together. Must admit the add meander would be nice !
