Posted - 14 Aug 2013 : 09:35:43 Thanks Gentlemen for your feedback. I still have an issue with my "real" pcb, but I've got to get on with other things at the moment. If I get a positive result in due course I'll post the problem/fix here. Many thanks.

Posted - 13 Aug 2013 : 21:38:17 I have never tried setting it to zero, but of course setting it to that it must have some value or there would no pour at all as this is the width of line used to produce the pour. Of course it means more lines per pour the thinner the lines are and the bigger the file ... Not that that matters

Posted - 13 Aug 2013 : 21:31:52 That's interesting. I've been setting my pour width to 0 for a while now. I wonder if that's why I haven't had a problem.

Posted - 13 Aug 2013 : 14:50:11 Sometimes reducing the line width of the copper pour can help ... usually make it no bigger than 5 thou.

Posted - 13 Aug 2013 : 13:24:34 I haven't had copper pour problems for a while, but in the past I've found that changing the size of the area by a small amount can sometimes make it work. I was also able to track down problem areas by cutting the size of the area in half, first one half and then the other and then progressively changing the size until the problem reappeared. usually some slight component movement would fix it.

Just tried re-pouring on one of my 12 layer boards that has islands all over the place and it does seem to be ok.

Posted - 13 Aug 2013 : 12:04:36 Thanks Nigel. Just experimenting on a test pcb and it seems OK, -but on my real pcb it floods everything in sight! . One of those "funnies" I suppose. |
