Posted - 04 Mar 2011 : 12:09:58 Is it possible to have 2 PCB's in the same project? I'm doing a design that uses almost the same circuit but 2 different processors with different pinouts and a couple of other minor differences.
Ideally I'd like to keep the 2 in the same project but I can't find a way to translate to a second PCB. (I get all the components from both schematics dumped into the same bin for the same PCB)
Do people do this when designing daughter boards etc. or is a second project the only answer? It would be handy for me in this case to keep them in the same project.

Posted - 07 Mar 2011 : 19:21:20 I use standard PCB sizes and etch in house. When I have several small PCBs to do I create a separate project for each and then copy and paste artworks into a combined layout for plot and etch.
This combined artwork will have new random circuit references and nets (answer No to join nets), which I ignore. Assembly and circuit info refers to the original artworks before copy.
I also use this mechanism for step and repeat. |

Posted - 04 Mar 2011 : 14:18:24 I have done this in the past by simply drawing 2 pcb outlines in a single pcb file.
Not sure that you can have 2 pcb files in 1 project.
