Hi
I have used ver. 10 for quite a while now, since I've upgraded to a WIN7 64bit I woud like to step up to a clean new version 13.
BUT I have two questions:
* In the description is only mentioned 32bit, how is it running on 64bit ?
I guess more or less all new computers will be in 64bit core rather than 32bit.

*On the sales site there mentioned versions in 1000, 2000pins or unlimited pins.
What are these 'pins' ?

The Easy-PC application is indeed a 32-bit program, as it doesn't do a lot of 'serious number crunching' there is little real benefit in changing this to a 64-bit version.

However, it does run just fine on 64-bit flavours of Windows, we have test machines and a number of customers using 64-bit versions of XP, Vista and Windows 7. As you say, many machines these days are shipping with 64-bit processors and the corresponding Windows variant.

As for your question about 'pins', this effectively means component pins. So if you have design with 20 32-pin SOICs and 40 resistors or capacitors, this is 720 pins. Vias are not included in the pin count. So if you are using the 1000-pin version, you can't make a design that has more than 1000 pins. You'll just have to reckon up how 'complex' your designs are going to be in terms of pin count.

If you opt for a particular pin limit and later find you reach the limit, the upgrade cost is only the difference in price at that time between the two variants, and can be done very quickly with a credit card purchase which gets you an emailed unlock code to lift the limit.
