Hi!
I've been using Easy PC for years now but always output in windows for etching my own boards at home.
So for the first time I wanted to get some boards made at a professional fab house I tried to output gerber files. The fab house told me that there were a number of problems with the gerbers and after a week now of trying different things and mailing the revised files to them, I'm getting nowhere. I'm very frustrated now as I can't get this working. I downloaded GC Viewer to view the gerbers but I don't know how to correct the problems.
HELP!
If some kind soul would take a look at my project and advise I would greatly appreciate it. I could e-mail it whomever could help.
Thanks loads!
Bart

Hi,

We use pcbcart at www.pcbcart.com They are based in Eastern China and do an 8 day turn-around for 2 layer boards and 12 days for multi-layer boards. They are not the cheapest by a long way but we use them for more complex boards and they have not failed us in 3 years. In addition if you send them a rubbish design they will tell you so and allow you to correct it rather than attempting to make what they think may be a bad design.

I've heard of European Circuits, so I'll give them a try.

The other one, is that anything to do with our favourite layout software?!

I've used a place called PCB Train... and they're one of the places that hasn't delivered on time :(

If in the UK then try European Circuits in Glasgow.
I always use them and they are great for small quantiies and volume.
PC-Train's express service for prototypes is fantastic

While we're on the subject of places to use for PCB manufacture, has anyone got any recommendations?

We have a perennial problem with various manufacturers who promise a fast turn around, and then fail to deliver. (I can name'n'shame if anyone's interested!)

We always seem to need boards as quickly as we can get them, but seldom, if ever, do we actually get them delivered when they were promised.

Hi Bart

Have you thought of using a shared PCB manufacturing process like PCB-pool (http://www.pcb-pool.com/) for your manufacturing. They manufacture from your Easy-PC .pcb file, so it would get around your Gerber problem. I've used them many times, without any serious problems, and pricing is very reasonable
