When forwarding design changes between sch and pcb designs I often get the prompt "Save changes in [filename] for use in another window" (the other window being the other Easy-PC window as I use it in multi-window mode). It seems to appear fairly sporadically, though always at least 5 minutes after first opening the PCB file.

Whether I click yes or no to the prompt it never works. After the prompt closes, if I again try to forward design changes again absolutely nothing happens, no forward confirmation prompt and no 'Save changes in...' prompt either.

Once this has happened the only way I can then forward changes is to save, close and re-open the PCB file after which the prompt doesn't appear (for at least 5 minutes) and it forwards changes exactly as you would expect.

Any idea's as to what is causing this, what the prompt actually means and/or how I can stop it?

I'm running Windows 10 & Easy-PC version 20.0.4.
The sch and pcb files are saved into a google drive folder which does occasionally cause saving issues but seems to have no bearing on this issue as exiting google drive doesn't stop it appearing.

I'll second that it's the most time wasting thing in Easy-PC that regularly raises it's ugly head.

Thank you very much for the info, manually saving first is a great tip and if that is what it takes to stop it happening then that's a good enough workaround for me!

This is a very annoying and long running issue linked with using Dual screen mode.

Numberone say it a windows issue so nothing they can do. It has been in EasyPC for many versions at least the last 5 and is the most time wasting thing i encounter using EasyPC.

Only thing you can do is either run in single screen mode or make sure you manually save the file yourself before doing an integrity check or forward design changes.
