Hi everyone,
I've not used Easy-PC for some time. Updated to version 20 a while back, but only just tried to use it. Downloaded the latest patch file and started a new PCB design.
Drew my PCB outline, added some pads for a connector and then went to add a component.
I get the following error message:
Error: the design does not contain suitable layers to add components on.
The design must contain and electrical layer and a non-electrical layer to be able to add components

I guess I'm missing something really simple, but I have no idea what!! Don't remember ever seeing this before.
All suggestions welcome
Many thanks
John822179

Many thanks David, I did look at this, but obviously, didn't get it right.
All appears to be working now.
Thanks for your speedy help

The issue starts with creating the new PCB design - you need to select a technology file as the basis for the design.

If you don't want to start your PCB again, you can use Settings, Technology Files to copy across the Layers from a technology file into your PCB.
