After being an un-employed EE for over a year, I have started working for a small, entrepreneurial firm here in the US. My first task was to find a "value" schematic / layout package that would meet our needs.

I tried out evaluation" versions of DipTrace, Eagle, and a couple of "free" tools from US - PCB manufacturers and was not really comfortable with any of them. Then I found PCB Artist from Adavanced Circuits and was very impressed. I have since been using PCB Artist for schematic capture of our design.

Unfortunately, my layout experience is old and limited (tape and Tango) and I am worried about the time / quality impact of my inexperience to our design. When I found out that PCB Artist is a "small brother" to Easy-PC , I thought that I might see if there was an interest from one of the Easy-PC forum members in creating “quality” PCB symbols for our use (at a reasonable cost) and / or laying out the PCB for us.

I do not know how “cleanly” a design started in PCB Artist will transfer to Easy-PC (might have to get some assistance from WestDev). Had I known about Easy-PC earlier, we probably would have just purchased it before I got started.

Please let me know if you have an interest. Thank you, TonyS

Hi Iain,

I am in the process of purchasing EasyPC as it appears that components created with PCB Artist must be "processed" in order to make them compatible with EasyPC, and as long as I purchase EasyPC from Advanced Circuits, they will provide the conversion at no charge.

I will send you an email detailing our immediate needs.

Thank you for replying to my post so quickly,
TonyS

Hi Tony,

I had never heard of PCB Artist .... but I had a look and you are correct, it does appear to be an EasyPC based layout tool !.
If that is the case I think it should import into EasyPC with no problems. If you have any files, I could have a quick check of this. My email is iain@wilkie-electronics.co.uk
I am quite happy to quote you for any work you may request.

Regards
Iain
